It is a myth the Christian Right push, that America was founded on Christian principles. Yet in a 1796 treaty with Tripoli it was stated that the United States was &quot;in no sense founded on the Christian religion&quot;. The original ideas were based more on Enlightenment principles. Those ideas were watered down and reworded by later congresses.</description>
