“No one has done it as well as Mark Simpson” – The Times of India

So true.  The Times of India included ‘metrosexual’ in their review of the most important words of the last thirty years, ‘Words of Our Times’, by Vikas Singh:

‘Much has been written about metrosexuals, but no one has done it as well as the man credited with coining the term in 1994, Mark Simpson. In a subsequent piece for salon.com in 2002, Simpson identified David Beckham as the metrosexual poster boy and wrote, “The typical metrosexual is a young man with money to spend, living in or within easy reach of a metropolis – because that’s where all the best shops, clubs, gyms and hairdressers are… The stoic, self-denying , modest straight male didn’t shop enough (his role was to earn money for his wife to spend), and so he had to be replaced by a new kind of man, one less certain of his identity and much more interested in his image — that’s to say, one who was much more interested in being looked at… A man, in other words, who is an advertiser’s walking wet dream.”‘

  1. “The Magnificent Seven” is sexual for persons who are turned on by violence, it has plenty of d s/m stimulation.
When I saw the advertizement, I thought that they has gussied Mark S. up in a geisha wig & outfit. But it is Liberace (I don’t know; did he have black hair, or is he dressed like Elvis? Not a violent hair on that head.
Actually as far as Pitt goes, a lot of young gay men seem to be impressed with “Fight Club”, which you mary lynn might like for all the thrashing that goes on.

An interesting fact about Liberace is that he comes from the state adjacent to the one in which I live. i’m sure he was ashamed to make much of it.

  2. ML: I agree, Ab Pitt isn’t that good looking. Or at least, not as good looking as he thinks he is. His face, like his (unintentional) comedy accents, is something which he appears to be inordinately pleased with.

  3. Mark S. — You are too funny! Prince Poopycock, indeed.

I never cared for Brad Pitt, he’s just not that good looking . . . maybe when he was in top form, and with a bag over his head.

I dated a guy who kinda looked like him (Pitt)– but he really wanted to be Harvey Keitel.

Speaking of movies that are not considered ‘porn’ but can enhance the sexual experience — I vote for “The Magnificent Seven.”

  4. http://www.princepoppycock.com/holiday.cfm Here is a fabulous Christmas gift from the gayest man alive — Prince Poppycock – his version of “Santa Baby” (free download). I guess I’ll always prefer Liberace’s sniggering double entendres to Poppycock’s overt overtures, but only one is alive to thrill the senses with new material. Long Live the Prince of Poppycock!
